Case Study: 625 Route 83, Elmhurst, Illinois

Building on our strategy to acquire difficult-to-zone transportation and service oriented property, Interstate Companies acquired the former Mid‐America Truck facility in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Mid‐AmericaTruck was a failed fire engine dealership. By the time the business was closed, the facility was in serious disrepair showing many years of deferred maintenance and abuse. Upon closing the acquisition, the partnership immediately commenced a major renovation which included reconditioning or replacing virtually every major building system. Within six months of closing, the partnership signed a new twelve year lease with Hertz Equipment Rental (HERC), the property now serves as HERC’s flagship equipment rental facility for the Chicago market.
